The south African stretches for about 2,798 kilometers and borders both the Alantic and Indian Oceans. Modern human beings have been inhabitting South Africa for more than 100,000 years. South Africa is known for its diversity in cultures, languages, and religious beliefs. In fact, the constitution holds more than 11 official languages. One fourth of the population lives on about or less than $1.25 U.S.A. dollars a day. If, my math is correct that's 12 million people living on a tiny, tiny amount of money. This makes me wonder why in a country that has a civilization that has been around for years and years is still stuck in a place with such little economic quality when the government has the means to add to it with the abundant natural resources that grow in south africa? South Africa has the ability and the means to export sugar, grapes, citrus, nectarines, wine, and other decidous fruits. In South Africa 31% of pregnant women are found to be HIV/AIDS infected...I want to know why more isn't being done to help this country with the HIV/AIDS epidemic that they have going on there. Because, in America as a people, we have excellent health care and I really feel like we should share that with the rest of the world.
